FA Umbro Essex Qualifying Cup 2008 Winners - Jackson 6

There were two spaces available for teams to qualify for the Regional Final from this competition and with the top two teams from each Group and the two best third placed teams progressing to the knockout stage there was much to play for in the Group Stage.

In Group One Athletico Horkseley won the Group with maximum points. They were the only team in the Group Stage to maintain a 100% winning record. Athletico Wivenhoe only lost to Athletico Horkseley and won all their other Group games so progressed as runners-up. Unfortunately AFC Asda lost out on goal difference on reaching the Knockout Stage as one of the best third placed teams.

Group Two proved to be very tight with the top two teams not losing a game but both drawing two each. Has Beens topped the Group and pipped Peartree Panthers to first place only by goal difference. Waafti FC finished only a point behind these two teams and accumulated enough points to go through as the best third placed team.

Group Three was won by the Kent FA Umbro Qualifying Cup runners-up, Jackson 6. They edged out Unison FC to win the Group on goal difference but both progressed to the Knockout Stage. GFM Utd finished third in the Group but lived to play another game as they took a place in the Knockout Stage as the second best third placed team.

The Knockout Stage saw all the games going to form. Group winners Athletico Horkseley, Has Beens and Jackson 6 all won and took a place in the Semi’s. It took Group One runners-up, Athletico Wivenhoe, penalties to overcome Group Three runners-up, Unison FC, after a 1-1 full-time score.

In the semi’s Jackson 6 were 2-0 victors over Athletico Horkseley. Meanwhile, it took penalties for Has Beens to dispose of Athletico Wivenhoe.

So the Final was contested between Kent Qualifying runner-ups, Jackson 6, and Has Beens and it was Jackson 6 who went one better and won 2-1 to be crowned FA Umbro Essex Qualifying Cup 2008 Champions!!!

FA Umbro Kent Qualifying Cup 2008 Winners - Cunning Stunts

There were two spaces available for teams at the Regional Final from this competition but with only the top team from each Group progressing in to the Knockout Stage there was little room for error.

In Group One Jackson 6 was dominant, winning all their five Group games and taking maximum points. In Group Two Collossus were nearly as impressive with a record of four wins and a draw which was enough to see them in to the Knockout Stage.

Group Three proved to be a much tighter affair and it was Santos who eventually claimed top spot but only by a point from Costa Del Tonbridge FC. All the remaining teams, except one, finished within four points of Santos who won three games and drew two.

Group Four was also a close call. Although Valley Colts and Hucking United both accumulated nine points, Cunning Stunts and Scouse Spurs finished on 12 points each so the winner and the team that went through from this Group would do so on goal difference and that team was Cunning Stunts.

In the Semi's Jackson 6 continued their authority with a 2-0 win over Santos whilst the impressive Collossus could not find a way past Cunning Stunts and went down 1-0.

In the Final both teams played some good football but it was Cunning Stunts who pinched a lead and held on to it to be crowned FA Umbro Kent Qualifying Cup 2008 Champions!!!

FA Umbro Hampshire Qualifying Cup 2008 Winners - DotLabel FC

There were two spaces available for teams to qualify for the Regional Final from this competition and with the top two teams from each Group and the two best third placed teams progressing to the Knockout Stage there was much to play for in the Group Stage.

In Group One The Frankfurthers were the only team in the competition to maintain a 100% winning record during the Group Stage. Swallowfield Tigers only lost to The Frankfurthers and claimed maximum points from their other games so also proceeded. Evolution took a place in the Knockout Stage as the best third placed team.

Paraletic Athletic

Group Two proved to be very tight. Paraletic Athletic won the Group but only on goal difference from hitched.co.uk who both finished on nine points. Two other teams in this Group ended on four points along with two teams from Group three so the last best third placed team who would progress would be decided on goal difference from one of these four teams and it went to Liddle FC.

DotLabel FC took top spot in Group Three with AC Burgandy finishing second so both of these teams went through to the Knockout Stage. DotLabel FC only dropped points when they drew with Monster Munch but even though AC Burgandy won two games and lost two games it was still enough to scrape through.

The Knockout Stage saw the majority of games going to form. Group winners Paraletic Athletic and DotLabel FC both went through to the Semi's, DotLabel FC with an emphatic 4-0 win against hitched.co.uk. Group One runners-up, Swallowfield Tigers, overturned Group Three runners-up, AC Burgandy, 2-1. However, the best third placed team, Evolution, upset the script by beating Group One winners, The Frankfurthers, 4-2.

The Semi's were very close with only two goals scored in total. DotLabel FC were triumphant against the plucky Evolution winning 1-0 and Paraletic Athletic beat Swallowfield Tigers by the same score to take their place in the Final.

  DotLabel FC

The Final was another close encounter. DotLabel FC blasted out of the gates and took a 2-0 lead through Matt Headington and Aaron Milne before Paraletic Athletic pulled one back through Gary Tough. But Paraletic Athletic were not able to force another goal and DotLabel FC held on to be deservedly crowned FA Umbro Hampshire Qualifying Cup 2008 Champions!!!

FA Umbro Devon Qualifying Cup 2008 Winners - Shiznittz

In a competition where all the matches were played in a really good spirit two teams from each of the two Groups progressed to the Knockout Stages.

In Group One three teams finished on 12 points which meant one would miss out on reaching the Knockout Stages on goal difference. One Army topped the Group with a goal difference of +16 and they were joined by Shiznittz who were runners-up. Unfortunately it was Taunton's Finest who missed the cut and were knocked out.

Group Two was a bit more clear-cut, although not by much. L.T.D. managed 10 points but were just pipped to second place by Mutz Nutz who accumulated 11 points and Apollo Allstars winning the Group with 12 points.

The Semi-Finals didn't go to form and Shiznittz, who were runners-up of Group One, swept Group Two winners, Apollo Allstars, aside 4-1. In the other Semi Group Two runners-up, Mutz Nutz, beat Group One winners One Army 2-1.

Shiznittz

The Final saw Shiznittz take a 1-0 lead and, as hard as they tried, Mutz Nutz couldn't force the equaliser so Shiznittz hung on to be crowned FA Umbro Devon Qualifying Cup 2008 Champions!!!

FA Umbro Sussex Qualifying Cup 2008 Winners - PI Allstars

There were two spaces available for teams to qualify for the Regional Final from this competition. Only one team from each of the four Groups progressed to the Knockout Stage which meant competition was going to be fierce because losing or drawing a game could mean a team wouldn't proceed.

In Group One One Touchables and Hove Albion FC both finished on 16 points having both won all their games but drawing with each other. However, it was One Touchables who went through to the Knockout Stage having recorded a better goal difference than Hove Albion FC.

  Olivers Army

In Group Two Westfield FC won five games and drew one which was enough to see them through and although Olivers Army lost a game in Group Three their five wins was also enough to see them top the Group with Zion FC losing out by one point.

In Group Four PI Allstars progressed and were the only team to win all their six Group games. In the process they scored 26 goals, an average of over four per game with the Murfin brothers getting the majority between them, and only conceded two.

The Semi-Finals were tight affairs with only two goals scored in total. Last year's beaten Finalists, Olivers Army, overcame One Touchables 1-0 and the impressive PI Allstars, last year's winners, triumphed 1-0 against Westfield FC.

PI Allstars

So for the second year in succession the Final was a contest between reigning champions PI Allstars and last year's runners-up Olivers Army. Unfortunately for Olivers Army the outcome was the same as last year but only after a penalty shoot-out. Like last year, Olivers Army took the lead but only to see that lead cancelled out shortly afterwards when the tricky Scott Murfin equalised. Niether team could pinch a winner so the competition would be decided by a penalty shoot-out and it was PI Allstars who kept their composure the best by scoring all three spot-kicks. PI Allstars' keeper, Sam Joyce, played his part and saved Olivers Army's last penalty which saw PI Allstars crowned FA Umbro Sussex Qualifying Cup 2008 Champions!!!!
